About Barragan Landscaping

There is an arrowhead written into the mountain face above San Bernardino, pale against the brush, and on clear days you can see it from half the yards in town. Barragan Landscaping is working beneath it while the air is still blue and the pavement has not yet started to give back heat. The work is unglamorous and exact: straight mower passes, edges squared at the concrete, weeds taken out of the gravel strip, hedges brought back to a line. Sprinklers get walked and adjusted, because in this valley a stuck head is the difference between a green lawn and a brown one by Thursday. What Barragan leaves behind is a yard that holds its shape all week, under a landmark older than the city.
