About For Your Gardens' Needs (FYGN)

There is an hour on summer evenings when San Anselmo goes gold — low light down the avenues, Mount Tamalpais holding the last of it — and that is the hour a tended garden repays every minute spent on it. For Your Gardens' Needs works the yards of the Ross Valley: mowing, weeding, deadheading, coaxing borders through the dry months and cutting them back when the rains return. The name says it plainly; the practice is week-by-week attention. A garden here lives between deep shade and hillside sun, and knowing which plant wants which is most of the art. The rest is simply showing up with clean tools and time.
