Clean Cut Grass

About Clean Cut Grass

Spring in Rough and Ready arrives in a rush of green, the meadows and front lawns along Rough and Ready Highway suddenly thick and shining after the winter rains. Clean Cut Grass lives up to its name, mowing each lawn to an even height, running a sharp edge along every walk and drive, and trimming close around fence posts and tree trunks. Clippings are blown clear before the mower is loaded, so the only thing left behind is that fresh-cut smell drifting over the road. In the soft light of a Nevada County morning, a lawn finished this way looks almost combed. It is a small everyday joy, and it does not wear thin.
