Green Thumb Gardens

About Green Thumb Gardens

Evening is the hour Redondo Beach shows off — the sun going down past the Esplanade, the bluff lawns catching the last warm light. Green Thumb Gardens builds its days around that hour: beds weeded, hedges shaped, grass cut so the shadows fall clean across it. Coastal gardens here can bloom nearly year-round if someone keeps up with them, and keeping up is the whole practice. Their route runs through the Hollywood Riviera and the neighborhoods above the sand. A garden that meets the sunset in good order — that is the day's measure.
