The old eucalyptus windrows still stand in long lines across this end of the valley, planted to break the wind, and on a gusty afternoon they roar like distant surf and shed bark and leaves across everything downwind. Privado landscape works the back streets near the Deer Creek channel, clearing what those trees let go and keeping the yards beneath them in order with mowing, edging, trimming, weeding and cleanups. Shade of that size is a gift and a chore at the same time. A raked, mown, blown-clean yard under big trees is one of the better sights in this town. That is the standard, week after week after week.
