About Pure Green Landscaping & Management

Late February in Porterville arrives on the wind: the citrus east of town blooms all at once, and for a couple of weeks the whole valley smells sweet enough to slow the traffic on Highway 65. That is the season Pure Green Landscaping & Management likes for the first real cut of the year, when the grass has drunk up the winter rain and comes back thick. The work is plain and satisfying — mowing, edging, trimming the borders, clearing the clippings until nothing is left but even stripes and a clean line along the walk. A lawn kept that way holds its shape well into the hot months, when the rest of the San Joaquin gives in to the sun. Around here a green yard is something you make on purpose, and they make it week after week.
