About GDHernandez

Dusk along Highway 65 turns the alfalfa a deep blue-green and the mountains behind Porterville into one long silhouette. GDHernandez works the town side of that view, on lawns that get looked at from porches every evening. Mowing, edging and trimming make up the bulk of it, with clippings cleared and the yard tidied before the truck moves on. The pleasure of the job is in the finish — the border cut sharp, nothing scattered, the whole square of grass sitting level in the last light. It is a small thing to give a street, and it changes how the street feels.
