Cali Clean Turf

About Cali Clean Turf

An hour before sundown the old quarry lake at Shadow Cliffs goes to hammered silver, and the lawns on the streets leading out that way settle into a deep, unhurried green. Cali Clean Turf works on the turf itself rather than the scenery around it: mowing height, thatch, and the compaction that builds through a summer of sprinklers and bare feet. Grass in this valley asks for patience, because the soil runs heavy with clay, the dry stretch is long, and winter shows up all at once. Aerating, overseeding, feeding and keeping the weeds from taking the thin spots is slow work that pays out a season later. The reward is a lawn that holds its color into October without being coaxed.
