About Affordable Weed Abatement

By late May the winter grass on the Phelan flats has gone the color of a paper bag, and the first hot wind off Baldy Mesa sends tumbleweeds skating across the road. Affordable Weed Abatement gets ahead of that turn in the year — discing lots, mowing down overgrowth, clearing brush back from structures, and hauling out the tumbleweed piles that stack against every fence line. On open parcels the work is measured in acres and in the clean margin left around a house. There is real pride in a lot that goes from waist-high and rattling dry to short, even stubble in an afternoon, with the Joshua trees left standing where they belong. Come the windy months, the property reads calm from the road.
