Most summer mornings the marine layer slips inland through the gap below Templeton and lies over Paso Robles until mid-morning, cool and grey and gone by ten. Erick's Green Touch starts inside that window, when the grass is still damp and a mower leaves a clean stripe instead of a cloud of dust. Mowing, edging, string trimming along fences and walks, and the clippings gathered up rather than left to bake in the sun. By the time the fog has burned off, the yard is cut and swept and the day belongs to whoever lives there. Green against a gold hillside is a striking thing, and keeping it that way is honest work.
