The work runs from lawns to garden beds to the general shaping of an outdoor space — the mountain version of landscaping, done among granite, pine, and black oak. Foothill yards want a firm hand and a light touch at once, and finding that balance is the craft. By the time the sun clears the treetops, another piece of the ridge is squared away and growing.
