In March the water runs off North Table Mountain in thin white falls and the basalt above Oroville goes purple and gold with wildflowers. Banyan tree care works the season underneath it — pruning while the sap is still climbing, tree trimming to shape a young canopy before the valley heat arrives in earnest. Summer here asks a great deal of a tree, and when one is past saving there is tree removal, taken down in pieces so the garden below is left whole. The wet months turn the work to storm damage cleanup, hauling out whatever the wind laid across a fence line overnight. Serving Oroville and the foothill communities that ring it.
