Late February in Mira Monte, the pixie orchards bloom and the west end of the valley smells like citrus for a couple of weeks. Hernandez Landscape is out working in it, mowing lawns that woke up with the winter rain, edging drives and walkways, trimming around trunks and posts, carrying the cuttings away. Grass moves fast in an Ojai spring, and a week missed shows on the surface. So the visits stay regular and the cutting height stays honest. What a yard gets back is that even, brushed look a lawn only has when someone has been minding it all along.
