About Jones's Gardening & Home Repairs

North of the Kern River, Oildale's older blocks keep their shade close — mulberries and elms throwing wide noon shadows over small lawns. Jones's Gardening & Home Repairs works those blocks, keeping the grass under the shade trees cut and the garden beds picked clean. Midday heat is a fact of life here, so shade matters, and so does a yard that does not add to anyone's chores. Mowing, trimming, tidying — the rounds repeat, and the repetition is the service. When a yard on one of these streets holds its line all summer, the whole block feels a little cooler.
