About Lara's Landscaping

Late Sunday afternoon in the Crown Heights blocks, sprinklers come on one yard at a time and the whole street smells of wet concrete and cut grass. Lara's Landscaping works these older neighborhoods east of the Coast Highway, where the lots are modest and the front lawn does most of the talking. Cutting and edging on rotation, hedges trimmed, weeds lifted out of the beds, the drive cleared of clippings before they leave. Oceanside's winter rain does half the watering and summer does none of it, so the year splits neatly into a growing half and a holding half. What they're after is simple and hard at once: a lawn with a level cut and an edge you could draw with a ruler.
