Garden Mamas

About Garden Mamas

Around Lake Merritt the early hours belong to walkers, to herons standing in the shallows, and to the necklace of lights still burning over the water. Garden Mamas keeps the yards just up the hill in Adams Point on a steady round — mowing, edging along old brick walks, cutting back the shrubs that lean out over the gate. Courtyards and small front lawns ask for a particular kind of attention, since every square foot is seen from somebody's window. Weeds get pulled, beds get mulched, and the clippings leave with the truck. The reward is a green square in a dense neighborhood that looks cared for every single week of the year.
