Clean Cut Grass

About Clean Cut Grass

Deer Creek talks its way right through the middle of Nevada City, and on a still morning you can hear it from half the yards in town. Clean Cut Grass works those yards to the sound of it — mower lines drawn straight under the cedars, edges cut sharp along old stone walls and picket fences. The name is the promise: grass cut clean, borders defined, clippings gone, the whole yard reading crisp from the street. In a town this steep and this shaded, that takes a careful eye and a willingness to work the awkward corners. The result is a lawn that looks like it belongs on these hills, from Nevada City down to Grass Valley and out to Penn Valley.
