Evening is the desert's apology — the heat lifts, the mesquite shade goes long, and a tended yard in Needles becomes the best seat in town. Marvin's Mary J does the daytime work that earns those evenings: mowing, trimming, cleanup, keeping the green things green and the stray things gone.
