About Van Winden Landscaping, Inc.

North of downtown the land flattens toward the river, the soil goes deep, and by March everything standing on it is growing at once. Van Winden Landscaping, Inc. meets that surge the only way you can — mowing on a tighter interval, edging the long runs of walk and drive, trimming and clearing so the beds don't vanish under their own good fortune. Spring in Napa is generous and short; the grass sprinting in April will be asking for shade by July, and how it gets cut now decides how it holds up later. There is a plain pleasure in a wide lawn finished in one unbroken set of passes, the mower shut off, the whole morning smelling of it. Then on to the next place before the day turns warm.
