About Valley Yard Works Inc

Most afternoons the wind comes up the valley off the bay, cool at the south end and steady through Napa by three o'clock, and September is the month you are gladdest of it. Valley Yard Works Inc runs the ordinary, essential rounds — mowing, edging, cutting hedges back, carrying off the clippings, keeping a property from ever needing rescue. The harvest weeks make everyone here busy, and a yard that stays neat straight through them is one less thing anybody has to think about. Grass cut level, walks swept, beds clear: it looks as though nothing happened, which is precisely right. The crew's mark is that nothing appears to have needed doing.
