About Proper Pruning Service

February in the foothills is bare branches against a washed blue sky, and to a pruner that is not emptiness — it is the one season a tree shows you its whole structure. Proper Pruning Service does its truest work then, shaping fruit trees, ornamentals, and roses in Murphys while they sleep, so spring can spend its energy in the right places. The craft is in what stays as much as what goes: a clean cut at the collar, a crown opened to light and air, a form the tree can live with for years. Summer brings the lighter rounds of hedge and shrub work, and autumn the last tidy before the cold. From Murphys to Angels Camp and the gardens up toward Arnold, the cuts are made with intention.
