About Rodolfo and son gardening

Saturday starts early in Virginia Colony, the older grid on Moorpark's west side, where the yards sit square and the sidewalks run straight to the corner. Rodolfo and son gardening moves through them with mower, edger and trimmer — grass taken down even, edges squared, sidewalks cleared before the day turns warm. Spring is the busy stretch, when one skipped week of growth quickly becomes two. Weeds come out by hand wherever a machine would tear instead of pull. Moorpark, Somis, Fillmore and Simi Valley round out the map.
