About Green Goddess Gardens

At day's end in the Ojai Valley the Topatopa Mountains blush rose — locals call it the pink moment — and for a few minutes every garden in Mira Monte is lit like a stage. Green Goddess Gardens tends those gardens through the ordinary hours before the show: mowing lawns under the oaks, shaping shrubs, weeding beds, clearing leaves when the valley finally turns toward its brief, bright winter. The valley runs hot and dry through summer, so the craft is in keeping green things thriving anyway. Beds mulched, edges cut clean, roses deadheaded before the weekend. When the pink light arrives, the work should already be done — that is the standard.
