About Defensible Spaces llc

Midpines earns its name: ponderosa pine and incense cedar crowd the slopes along Highway 140, and every breeze sends another shower of needles onto roofs, decks and yards. Defensible Spaces llc does what its name describes, clearing and shaping the ground around homes so the forest stays a good neighbor. Needles are raked back from the house, dry grass is cut low, and limbs and brush are pulled away to open a clean ring around each building. By late June, when the hillside grass along Bear Creek has cured to straw, that cleared ring is what lets people up here rest easier through the dry months. It has its own beauty, too: a tidied yard beneath tall pines takes on a parklike grace, all swept floor and towering columns.
