Star Gardens

About Star Gardens

Nights are dark and deep in Middletown, dark enough that the sky over Cobb Mountain still fills with stars — a fitting sky for a company called Star Gardens. The daytime work is more down to earth: mowing lawns, shaping hedges, pulling weeds, raking out beds so gardens can carry the valley's long summer. Winter rains turn the surrounding hills a startling green, and that is when the pruning and cleanup get done, setting every yard up for the growing months. By June the wild grass has gone golden and the tended gardens stand out like small oases. That contrast is the whole point of the work.
