Floresta

About Floresta

For a few weeks after the winter rains, the slopes around Mead Valley bloom — mustard and wildflowers running yellow and purple through the chaparral — and the whole inland country remembers it can be lush. Floresta carries that idea in its name and into its work: keeping the growing things on a property thriving and in bounds. Lawns are mowed and fed, shrubs shaped, beds cleared, the green near the house tended so it outlasts the hills' short season. When summer browns everything beyond the fence line, a cared-for yard becomes the last flowering thing in view. Making that small green place and keeping it is the quiet ambition here.
