About PJ McNamara Inc

Downtown Martinez wakes to train horns along the waterfront and a pewter shine on the Carquinez Strait beyond the marina, in a town where beavers once set up house in Alhambra Creek right in the middle of downtown. Up the steep side streets, older homes sit on compact lots where every square foot of lawn has to earn its keep. PJ McNamara Inc provides lawn care for yards like these: regular mowing, crisp edging along the sidewalk, and trimming that keeps hedges off the front steps. Winter is the green season here, when rain wakes the turf and the hills above town turn the color of new moss; by late spring the job becomes holding that color as the heat builds. On a bright morning, a fresh-cut front yard on one of those hill streets is a small, satisfying square of order above the water.
