Saturday morning near Northgate Park sounds like Manteca at its best — sprinklers, a basketball on a driveway, and somewhere down the street a mower moving in even passes. Sandoval Landscaping is often that mower. The work is lawn care and landscaping straight through: cutting, edging, trimming hedges, clearing the clippings, keeping front yards looking like somebody on the block cares. Grass on this side of the valley grows hard from April on, so staying ahead of it is less about muscle than about showing up when you said you would. By noon the street is quiet again, the lines are straight, and the neighborhood looks the way a neighborhood likes to look. Manteca and the towns just up the road.
