About Latigo Landscape Design

Latigo Canyon Road climbs out of the marine layer in switchbacks, and somewhere on the third turn the ocean appears below like a held breath. That is the country Latigo Landscape Design works in — Malibu's steep, sun-cut hillsides where a lawn is a small green defiance of the chaparral. The crew shapes and mows and edges with the coast at their backs, tuning each yard to the slope it sits on. Fog in the morning, hard blue light by noon, and by the time they load the trailer the grass lines run as clean as the ridgeline. It is careful work in a landscape that rewards care, and the results read from the road.
