The Yard Guy

About The Yard Guy

At dusk in Magalia the deer come down through the black oaks and stand at the edge of the mown grass as if inspecting the work. The Yard Guy runs a short route through these streets — mowing, string trimming, edging along walks and drives, carrying off clippings and the endless needles. It is a one-name sort of business in a place where people know whose truck is whose, and the standard is simple: show up when you said, cut it even, leave nothing behind. A tidy lawn under tall pines has a particular look, bright and intentional against all that rough ground. That look is the entire point.
