About Schmiedeberg Designs

Down Los Osos Valley the last light comes lengthwise over the fields, and even a modest front yard glows like part of the farm country it once was. Schmiedeberg Designs works with that light in mind — laying out beds, keeping lawns cut and bordered, pruning shrubs so their shapes read from the street. Design is the starting point, but maintenance is the follow-through: the mowing, edging, weeding, and cleanup that keep an idea looking like an idea. The valley's mix of sun and sea fog rewards patience, and patience is the method. What is left at the end of a visit is composition — grass, hedge, path, and shadow in the right order.
