Grounds Keepers Torres

About Grounds Keepers Torres

Winter days are short even here, and in Panorama City the low sun lies flat across the wide streets by four o'clock. Grounds Keepers Torres works to that clock in December, getting the mowing and the clearing done while the light lasts. The blocks are generous and uniform, apartment lawns and long front strips, so the crew keeps grounds by the property rather than the patch: mow, edge, trim, sweep, move on. Rain-fed winter growth is soft and fast, and cutting it before it lies over is what keeps a lawn dense come February. Seen from the sidewalk at the end of a run, a whole street of even turf under that thin gold light is worth the early start.
