Flores Artscape

About Flores Artscape

For about a week each May the jacarandas above Silver Lake let go all at once, and every lawn in the neighborhood wears purple whether it wants to or not. Flores Artscape mows straight through that confetti and hauls it out, because a lawn under bloom is still a lawn waiting to be read. Around the reservoir path the yards are small and steeply framed, hedges pressed close to the house, and the work is as much shaping as cutting. An even height, a hedge line squared to the eave, a strip of bare soil where turf meets concrete: those are the marks left behind. It is unhurried attention, given to ordinary front yards on a hill full of them.
