About Carmel Landscaping

Spring noon on the Miracle Mile: the sun straight overhead, the tar pits letting off their slow black bubbles, and every lawn between Sixth and Wilshire at its greenest of the year. Carmel Landscaping is out along those streets with the mower running steady, cutting even, then walking the edge with the trimmer so the line against the sidewalk is dead straight. Hedges along the apartment fronts get taken back square; the parkway grass gets its own careful pass. Clippings are swept up and gone, not left to yellow on the concrete. It is a plain kind of pride, but it holds — a block where every front lawn is squared away reads well from a moving car and better from the porch.
