Arturo's Gardening & Landscaping

About Arturo's Gardening & Landscaping

The first real rain of November finds West Adams and the smell rises off the pavement all at once, dust and asphalt and wet grass under those tall old Victorians. Arturo's Gardening & Landscaping works the days on either side of it: cutting lawns before the storm, clearing the sodden mess of leaves and palm fronds after. Grass grows fast in that wet stretch, so the mowing comes closer together and the edges get recut sharp against the walks. Hedges are trimmed back into shape, the parkway strip cleaned out, everything hauled off. When the sun returns and the palms shine along Adams, the yards along the block look ready for it.
