Lane Kilpatric's Tree Care

About Lane Kilpatric's Tree Care

Rain comes into Los Altos from the west, over the ridgeline above Rancho San Antonio, and by morning the foothill streets are full of whatever the wind took down. Lane Kilpatric's Tree Care answers those mornings with storm damage cleanup: the split limb hung on a roofline, the eucalyptus lying across a lane above Foothill Expressway. The rest of the year is patient work, thinning heavy oaks before the next front, shaping redwoods and backyard fruit trees, pruning back what has grown over a walkway, removing a tree that has become more hazard than shade. This town measures itself in canopy, and holding that canopy sound takes a saw used sparingly and a plan behind every cut. There is a real satisfaction in leaving a hillside yard looking like nothing ever happened to it.
