Prestige Garden

About Prestige Garden

July dusk is the hour the gardens of Lomita wake up — heat off the pavement, hummingbirds working the last of the salvia, the smell of water hitting warm ground somewhere down the block. Prestige Garden builds toward that hour: lawns mowed even, beds weeded clean, borders trimmed so the planting and the grass each keep to their own side. A garden in the South Bay asks for attention nearly year round, and steady weekly hands are what keep it from turning into a chore nobody wants to face. Come evening the owner walks out with a glass of something and there is simply nothing to do but look at it. That is the point of the whole exercise.
