About Brian Briton Landscapes

Late in the day the hills below Cresta Blanca turn the color of a struck match, and the vineyard roads south of town fill with that low gold light that makes every lawn look better than it is. Brian Briton Landscapes prefers to be judged in flatter light: a mow that is even at nine in the morning, an edge that holds its line in full sun, borders trimmed so nothing spills. Yards on Livermore's south side sit between cultivated rows and open hill grass, and a lawn there earns its keep by being deliberately kept. Spring gets the most cutting; the tail of summer gets the most attention. The pleasure of the job is the moment the mower shuts off and the shape of the yard finally shows.
