California Lawns

About California Lawns

By August a Lakewood lawn tells you exactly how it has been treated all year — the fescue thinning where the water misses, the Bermuda creeping into the flowerbeds, the shade side holding while the street side gives up. California Lawns keeps front and back yards through that long dry stretch with mowing on a set schedule, edging, trimming, feeding and weed control. Over at Rynerson Park the ball fields show what steady water and steady cutting can do at scale, and a home lawn wants the same discipline in a much smaller rectangle. The pride is in a lawn that stays one even color into September, when everything else on the block has gone tired. Cut it right, cut it often, and this climate will hand you nine months of green for the trouble.
