Nevada County Brush Clearing And Fire Abatement

About Nevada County Brush Clearing And Fire Abatement

Lake City is a small community tucked into the forested Sierra foothills of Nevada County, where pine, black oak, and manzanita crowd the slopes and the summer grass cures to straw by July. Nevada County Brush Clearing And Fire Abatement does what its name says: clearing brush, cutting down dry grass and weeds, limbing up low branches, and removing the cut material so homes have open ground around them. Late spring, when the grass stands tall and begins to turn, is the time to get ahead of the dry months. A property opened up this way has a different feel, with the understory thinned, the trunks standing free, and room for the breeze to move through. On a hot August evening, looking out over trimmed-back ground and open forest beyond, that work is easy to appreciate.
