About Grass Roots Landscaping

In the San Geronimo Valley the winter rains raise Lagunitas Creek and send the salmon home, and every yard in Lagunitas-Forest Knolls lives in that watershed's weather — redwood shade, deep loam, moss on the north sides of things. Grass Roots Landscaping tends these forest-edge gardens: mowing the small bright lawns, cutting back the ever-advancing green, hauling out needles and leaf-fall before the next storm delivers more. Sun is a currency here, spent in patches, and the crew works to keep each one open. A cleared, cut, quiet yard under the redwoods feels like a held breath — and that is the finish they leave behind.
