About Mr. Landscaping

Toward the Lemon Grove line the blocks are older and the hedges are the sort that have been shaped so long they hold their own form. Mr. Landscaping keeps that form honest: hedges and shrubs cut true, grass mown to one even height, edges laid in along the walk and the drive, weeds out of the parking strip. Noon light in La Presa is flat and unforgiving, which is precisely when sloppy trimming shows, so the lines get checked twice before the truck loads. Clippings go along with it. What stays behind is a front yard that looks drawn rather than merely cut.
