About Yardly Yard Services

Late in the day the light on Mount Helix goes the color of dry grass, and the hill's long shadow slides east over the rooftops below. Yardly Yard Services works that hour, after the Santa Ana has quit and the air above La Mesa turns still and warm. Mowing and edging. Trimming around fences, mailboxes and the odd citrus tree. Shrubs held to their line, feeding and weed control carried through the long rainless stretch, leaves and cuttings hauled off before dark. Every June the jacarandas near the Village let go and lay purple across the curbs, and somebody has to sweep that up and make the lawn underneath look deliberate — that is the whole job, done on a Tuesday and done again the Tuesday after, so a yard here never has to be thought about at all.
