Brandi's Helping Hand

About Brandi's Helping Hand

On the Rolando side of La Mesa the houses sit close and the front lawns are about the size of a good rug, bungalows from another era with porches that face the sidewalk. Brandi's Helping Hand does well on that scale — a mower turned by hand around the rose bed, string trimmer along the porch steps, the edge cut where concrete meets grass. Nothing is too small to be worth doing right, and on a lot like these the difference between tidy and tired is roughly forty minutes. Weeds come out of the parkway strip, the sidewalk gets swept, and the blower is quiet again before the neighbors' afternoon. Small yards, kept the way people actually live in them.
