Woodland Gardens

About Woodland Gardens

Jenner's homes climb a steep hillside where Highway 1 begins its twisting run north along the cliffs, so nearly every garden here is a garden on a slope. Woodland Gardens looks after those lawns and yards, mowing the terraced patches of grass, trimming back shrubs the coastal wind has pushed sideways, and raking out beds after a blustery week. Autumn is a quiet pleasure in this town: the first rains turn the summer-brown hills green almost overnight, and a cared-for yard greens right along with them. Late in the day the sun drops toward open ocean and gilds every mown terrace in amber. This is lawn care shaped to one steep, salt-washed corner of the Sonoma Coast, done with pride in how it looks from the road below.
