About Yard Design

Irvine mornings often begin under the marine layer, the light soft and grey over the eucalyptus windrows the old ranch left standing. That is the hour Yard Design likes best for mowing — the grass still cool, the stripes laying down clean, the edge along a Woodbridge walk cut sharp enough to read from the far side of the lake. Trimming, feeding and weed control follow on the schedule the lawn actually asks for rather than the one the calendar keeps. By the time the gloom burns off toward noon and the Jeffrey Open Space Trail fills with walkers, the clippings are gone, the walks are blown clear, and the yard looks like nobody was ever there. That is the whole point of the work: a lawn that reads green and even from the curb, week after week, on into the short bright rains of winter.
