February is the month Inglewood gets its water — storms tracking in off the Pacific for a day or two, gutters running down toward Centinela, and then a green so sudden it seems borrowed. Rainfall Systems works with that turn: lawns mown as they surge, edges recut where winter blurred them, beds cleared of the weeds that came up with the rain. Grass is fed and kept at a height that helps it hold moisture once the dry months take over again. There is a plain pleasure in walking a yard the morning after a storm, everything washed and standing up, and leaving it neater than the weather did. That is the whole job, month after month.
