About Mario's lawn mower

First light in Indio comes over the Mecca Hills and lays a long blue shadow across the valley floor, and that is the hour this lawn care work begins. The mowing goes down while the Bermuda grass still holds its overnight cool, before the heat leans in off the open desert. Edges get cut clean along the driveway and the clippings are gathered, so the yard looks swept rather than merely trimmed. Seasonal cleanups take away the dropped fronds and the drift of dust that every Coachella Valley summer sends across a lawn. By the time the sun clears the Santa Rosas, the block looks tended — which is the entire point of the trade.
