Thresher Turf

About Thresher Turf

Every winter the sand gets pushed into a long berm near the river mouth to hold the swell out of the streets, and the town settles into its short, wet, green season. Thresher Turf reads a lawn by that calendar — cut low and often once the rain wakes the grass, higher and gentler through the dry summer, edges kept sharp either way. Add trimming along the hard lines and a clean sweep of the clippings and the yard is finished. The satisfaction lies in a stand of turf that stays thick while neighboring lawns go thin and open. Grass is a crop, and treating it like one shows.
