About Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc.

A yard on the rise near Seacliff sees the whole flat run of Huntington Beach out to the water, and that view changes how a plan has to be drawn. Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. works from the layout outward: where the path goes, what blooms when, which line carries the eye from the street to the front door. Then comes the keeping of it, with mowing and edging, beds weeded and mulched, and shrubs trimmed to hold the shape the drawing intended. Coastal light is bright and flattening at midday, so texture and color get chosen for how they read at four in the afternoon. A design that still looks right in its second summer is the only kind worth installing.
